Pebble Health 4.0

All current users can update their Pebble apps to 4.0 from Google Play or the iTunes App Store. Pebble Time, Time Steel, and Time Round users can update their watches to 4.0 from the Pebble app: Menu » Support » Update Your Pebble. Pebble Time Round Is a Top Winner in the 2016 International Design Excellence Awards

We’re excited to announce that Pebble Time Round claimed Top Winner honors in the 36th annual International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). Bestowed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), Pebble Time Round was recognized this year among a field of over 1,700 designs from more than thirty countries.

Top Winner designs go on to compete for Gold, Silver, and People’s Choice IDEA Awards, which will be unveiled during the 2016 IDEA Ceremony at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI on Wednesday, August 17.

The honors for Pebble Time Round build upon the Bronze IDEA Awards Pebble Time and Pebble Time Steel won in 2015.

Pebble Time Round is also in the running to win IDEA’s 2016 People’s Choice Award.

iOS Text Reply Expands to More Users, Actionable Emails Coming Next

Pebble watches are still the only non-Apple wearables that can reply to received iOS Messages. It’s part of the work we do to deliver a rich, fully-featured integration with iPhone that keeps getting better. From being able to filter which apps send notifications to your wrist to integrating Pebble Health with Apple’s HealthKit, making the Pebble iOS experience the best it can be is how we roll.

Actionable notifications like Pebble replies to texts and emails are a bit easier to implement for Android users, thanks to that operating system’s more open philosophy, but we’re always hard at work to make the Pebble experience on both mobile platforms as consistent as possible. The new features available for iOS Pebble users today have been available to Android users for some time now.

Introducing iOS Text Reply to the Pebble Time Lineup (Release Notes)

Text Reply on iOS sends messages directly via your carrier, replies do not appear in the Messages app.

Pebble is excited to introduce Text Reply for iOS, a beta feature making us the first non-Apple smartwatch to bring voice and text replies to our iPhone users.

Starting today, Pebblers in the U.S. on a post-paid AT&T account can test drive iOS Text Reply using their Pebble Time, Time Steel, or Time Round. After setting things up, users can respond with a voice reply or pre-defined text to incoming items from the iOS Messages app.

Expanding voice capabilities to Pebblers with iPhones continues to be a big focus of ours. We are working to enable additional carriers and services to provide actionable notifications to more and more iPhone users. To get started with iOS Text Reply, follow these steps:

  1. Update your Pebble Time iPhone app to version 3.4 or higher.
  2. After updating the iPhone app, update your Pebble Time’s firmware to version 3.7 or higher. Select Menu » Support » Update Your Pebble if you aren’t prompted automatically.
  3. From the iOS app, navigate to Menu » Settings » Actionable Notifications to set up Text Replies for the first time.
  4. Follow the setup instructions.
  5. After successful setup, notifications received from the Messages app will have the option to reply with voice or a list of pre-defined responses.
  6. Note: Successfully sent Pebble replies will NOT appear in the iOS Messages app. The reply is sent as an SMS through AT&T directly, and not the Messages app.

This Sunday marks the debut of the world’s lightest and thinnest smartwatch at Best Buy and Target stores in the US, giving customers a chance to see and feel Pebble Time Round in-person. Pebble Time Round will also be available online at Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, Target.com, and Pebble.com.
